Between the ancient market towns of Whitchurch and Wem lies the village of Whixall. The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge and the Llangollen Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, the medieval town of Shrewsbury and the Llangollen Canal are all close to the village which lies within the boundaries of the 948 hectare Whixall Moss National Nature Reserve, rich in wildlife with walking trails through the landscape. Whitchurch is dominated by the imposing St. Alkmund’s Church and offers plenty of great shops, pubs and restaurants as well as superb historic Medieval, Tudor and Georgian buildings.
