The village of Tintwistle, 2 miles from Glossop, is skirted on three sides by the Peak District National Park and is renowned for the moorlands of the Dark Peak. Bottoms Reservoir is in the centre of the village, providing the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll. Follow Doctor's Gate Roman road to Kinder Scout and Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, or the Snake Pass to Ladybower and Derwent Reservoirs. The nearby bustling town of Glossop provides plentiful shops, pubs and restaurants and is surrounded by some of the most magnificent Peak District scenery.
