Ibberton is an attractive little village in splendid North Dorset, which nestles under the ridge of Bulbarrow Hill, within the Blackmore, a short distance from Blandford Forum. The countryside of the area inspired Thomas Hardy (who wrote 'Return of The Native' in neighbouring Sturminster Newton) and is now a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering glorious walks and wildlife spotting. Attractions including Stourhead House and Gardens, the Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury, the impressive abbey and castles at Sherborne, and the lively market town of Dorchester are all a short drive away. Venture a little further afield and you’ll discover the Cathedral city of Salisbury, and the bustling seaside resorts of Bournemouth and Weymouth for sun, sea and sand.
