Set on the southern slopes of Titterstone Clee Hill and surrounded by glorious rolling countryside is the remote hamlet of Hope Bagot. This village is close to the historic market town of Ludlow – a settlement situated on the River Teme which boasts nearly 500 listed buildings and original medieval street patterns. Renowned for its shopping facilities, Ludlow is packed with antique shops, art and craft stores and more Michelin-starred restaurants than anywhere else outside London. There are also numerous tea-rooms, pubs and inns. The town's traditional street markets are held in the shadow of the castle, and offer a range of local goods, including cheeses, fresh produce, books and crafts. The castle itself boasts fascinating architecture and is over 900 years old. The village is also within easy reach of Church Stretton, Shrewsbury and Hereford, as well as popular attractions such as the Ironbridge Gorge, the Severn Valley Railway, Berrington Hall and Cardingmill Valley.
