Description
Meadowcroft House is a former gentlemans residence built in 1908. Over the last century it has been used as a school and hotel before being converted into a stunning complex of apartments. There are two acres of grounds including mature trees, manicured lawns, shrubberies and more natural areas to enjoy and an all weather tennis court is available for guests use. For the less energetic, the gardens are large enough for a leisurely stroll and are full of birds, rabbits and the occasional deer. Meadowcroft is a gentle 20 minute stroll from Bowness via the shores of Lake Windermere, so you have the option of leaving the car behind to make a morning of a pleasant amble into Bowness with its shops, cafes and restaurants, a local supermarket, an internet cafe and the Beatrix Potter Centre.
