Grimbles, fondly named by its young owners, is an excellent example of quality self catering in the Lakes. Backbarrow, only a short distance from Fell Foot Park on the shores of Windermere, is now home to the Lakeland Motor Museum where you will find a fantastic display featuring vehicles ranging from vintage Aston Martins to a replica Bluebird. Haverthwaite Steam Railway, the beautiful village of Cartmel and the Lakeside Aquarium are also close by and well worth a visit, as is the new Marina at the Swan Hotel, Newby Bridge, perfect for enjoying a bar meal at the waters edge.
