Midway between Kendal and Windermere, Brigsteer is a superb location from where to explore the delights of the Lake District National Park. The area offers some superb scenery across the Lyth Valley and excellent walking and cycling opportunities for all ages and abilities. The local inn has now closed, however the Strickland Arms , is near to the gates of Sizergh Castle (N.T.). 8 minutes by car or a 3 mile circular walk from the village. Offers locally sourced food, light and main meals and a bar. Family and dog friendly with a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. Also nearby the multi award winning farm shop and cafe at Low Sizergh Barn.As the name suggests, Garden Cottage has a delightful cottage style garden, full of colour and fragrance throughout the year and enjoys distant views of the Lyth Valley and surrounding fells.This traditional double fronted cottage displays a wealth of charming, characterful features including open beams and wood burning stove and the owner has successfully combined the original features with co-ordinating linens and many personal touches throughout.
