Description
Located 1,700 feet above sea level, Foulard Cottage is probably the highest cottage in our portfolio. Situated at Nenthead in the North Pennine Hills, 4 miles from Alston, this 17th century detached cottage is full of original features including, beams and open fire. The village has a pub, restaurant, shop and visitor centre at Nenthead mines. Alston is the highest market town in England, with steep cobbled streets and an interesting variety of shops and galleries. This is a panoramic landscape of fells, moors, ravines, valleys, mountains, rivers and waterfalls ( the highest waterfall in England is High Force approximately 10 miles away). Crisscrossed with bridleways, ancient tracks, Englands highest footpath, the Pennine Way and the C2C cycle route, the area is ideal for walking, cycling, pot holing and pony trekking.
