Situated in the village of Thornthwaite, three miles from Keswick, the apartment has an elevated aspect to the rear commanding fantastic views across the valley to Skiddaw and the fells surrounding Keswick. Carrigbaun is Gaelic for White Rock, after The Bishop, a famous white rock perched on the steep scree slopes of Barf nearby. Thornthwaite itself lies at the south western end of Bassenthwaite Lake, below Whinlatter Forest, Barf and Lords Seat. Sailing and fishing are available on Whinlatter. There are pubs, restaurants and a shop nearby in Braithwaite and a wealth of amenities in Keswick including the Theatre by the Lake
