The village of Shebbear is 1 mile with a mobile Post Office shop church and The Devil Stone Inn all within walking distance. There are also numerous pubs nearby serving locally produced food. The surrounding area offers local market towns such as Holsworthy and Hatherleigh the town of Torrington which is steeped in history with the 1646 display Dartington Crystal and RHS Rosemoor Gardens. Beaches at Bude and Westward Ho! are both within a 25 minute drive and there are many attractions to the north and west.
