Steeped in maritime history the popular village of Appledore offers much for visitors to see and do right on your doorstep. There is a choice of shops pubs restaurants galleries and the Maritime Museum to learm more about the nautical past. Enjoy a seasonal river trip across to Instow with its sand dune beach or fishing trips in Bideford Bay. Walk the coast path to the nearby town of Bideford or to Westward Ho! which is just over 1 mile away with its 2 miles of sandy surfing beach. Other attractions nearby include The Big Sheep The Milky Way Dartington Crystal RHS Rosemoor Clovelly with its winding cobbled streets The Tarka cycle trail and footpath and much more.
